We are constantly working towards improving the fuel consumption & direct emissions of our products. We are also improving our knowledge regarding the energy efficiency of our products through Lifecycle Assessments completed in 2023. Based on these findings, we are prioritizing our investments to further reduce the environmental impact of our new products using environmentally-friendly methodologies.

Materials Sourcing

Manitowoc purchases critical materials that are necessary to the functionality or production of the products we manufacture. We are committed to conducting our business in a sustainable manner, and work in cooperation with our suppliers to respect this commitment through our entire supply chain. Manitowoc mitigates risk in its Global Supply Chain in our contractual Terms and Conditions with suppliers and our Supplier Code of Conduct. After deploying our Supplier Code of Conduct in 2023 through our entire supply base we have conducted a second self-assessment on 100 of our key suppliers in 2024, different than the 100 previous ones. This self-assessment challenges selected suppliers on their approach to human rights, employment practices, labor practices, environmental sustainability, business ethics, and global trade compliance. In 2024, we began training our Purchasing teams in sustainable sourcing methodologies. We provided them with a comprehensive toolbox to incorporate environmental and human rights considerations when selecting new suppliers or evaluating existing purchasing processes, keeping The Manitowoc Way continuous improvement mindset. Manitowoc's due diligence processes include 1. Establishing robust Company management systems: - developing a Conflict Minerals Policy - implementing a Corporate Governance/Whistleblower hotline for employees/suppliers to report violations of the Company's policy concerning conflict minerals. 2. Identify and assess risk in the supply chain. With the help of a third party, a supply chain survey was completed with an identified list of 3TGs (tin, tantalum, tungsten and Gold) suppliers with follow-up investigations depending on the answers received 3. Design and implement strategies to respond to identified risks 4. Report annually on supply chain due diligence to manage Critical Material's price and lead time. Manitowoc's general sourcing strategy involves safety stock, long-term forecasting, long term agreements. We also have a dual sourcing approach and ask our suppliers to develop contingency plans for critical parts.
