Materials Sourcing | RT-IG-440a.1 | Description of the management of risks associated with the use of critical materials | N/A | see below |
Manitowoc purchases critical materials that are necessary to the functionality or production of the products we manufacture. We are committed to conducting our business in a socially, ethically and environmentally responsible manner, and work in cooperation with our suppliers to respect this commitment through our entire supply chain.
Manitowoc mitigates risk in its Global Supply Chain in our contractual Terms and Conditions with suppliers and our Supplier Code of Conduct. In 2021, we have begun a supplier self-assessment process to review and improve the efficiencies of the consumption of critical materials in our supply chain. Manitowoc's due diligence processes include: Establishing robust Company management systems: - developing a Conflict Minerals Policy - implementing a Corporate Governance/Whistleblower hotline for employees/suppliers to report violations of the Company's policy concerning conflict minerals. Identify and assess risk in the supply chain. With the help of a third party, a supply chain survey was completed with an identified list of 3TGs (tin, tantalum, tungsten and Gold) suppliers with follow-up investigations depending on the answers received. Design and implement strategies to respond to identified risks. Report annually on supply chain due diligence to manage Critical Material's price and lead time.
Manitowoc's general sourcing strategy involves safety stock, long-term forecasting, long term agreements. We also have a dual sourcing approach and ask our suppliers to develop contingency plans for critical parts. |
Remanufacturing Design & Services | RT-IG-440b.1 | Revenue from remanufactured products and remanufacturing services. | U.S. $ in millions | 103.1 |
| | | | With a growing emphasis on increasing non-new machine sales (i.e., aftermarket parts, services, rentals, used cranes, training, and digital solutions), we launched CRANES+50 in 2021. CRANES+50 is our strategy to increase non-new machine sales by 50% over the next five years from our baseline of $448.6 million in 2021. Consistent with our Mission and Vision, CRANES+50 also focused on maintaining, upgrading, and reselling existing cranes in the field to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing cranes. Starting with four U.S. facilities in 2019, in 2022 we have grown to 12 with plans to add another 2-3 facilities per year to foster growth in remanufacturing. The continued expanded market coverage bodes well in serving customers with repair options closer to their locations. |
